How to choose a soft starter
Motor current and starts per hour
Size by full-load current and how often the motor starts; frequent starts or long ramps need a larger unit.
Inline or inside-delta
Inside-delta wiring lets a smaller starter run a larger motor; check the motor has six terminals.
Soft starter or VFD
If the process needs speed control or energy saving at part load, choose a VFD; for a smooth start only, a soft starter is cheaper.
Questions
Do soft starters need a bypass contactor?
Many current models have the bypass built in. Older or larger units may need an external bypass contactor, which we can quote with it.
Can you supply a replacement for an old soft starter?
Yes. Send the nameplate and the motor data; we offer the successor model or an equivalent with the same current and wiring.
Do you deliver soft starters outside Jeddah?
